The highest mountain in Indonesia, East Kalimantan, is Mount LiangPran

very diverse. From coastal areas in the lowlands to thousands of meters above sea level or commonly called mountain peaks. As one of the largest archipelagic countries in the world, there is no reason to doubt Indonesia's beauty and natural wealth. As the country with the largest number of islands, each place in Indonesia has a different and varied natural appearance; in fact, most natural appearances may not necessarily be found elsewhere in Indonesia. For example, Mount Puncak Jaya in Papua is known for its peak that is always covered with snow, although we know that Indonesia has a tropical climate. Speaking of mountains, actually Indonesia has many mountains, even most of them are volcanoes and still active, such as Mount Anak Krakatau and Mount Tangkuban Parahu. This mountain stretches from the islands of Sumatra, Java, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, the islands of Kalimantan, Maluku to Papua. If we talk about the island of Borneo, most people will think that this island has the largest rainforest ecosystem in Indonesia.
It is not surprising that the diversity of flora and fauna that Kalimantan has is quite a lot, some of which are even endemic to the island. Also, Kalimantan is currently in the spotlight of many parties because this island was also chosen as the location of the new capital of Indonesia, specifically in the province of East Kalimantan. One of the currently best known districts in East Kalimantan is Kutai Kartanegara Regency, because the new capital of Indonesia will be located in this district. As explained above, East Kalimantan also has a variety of natural features, ranging from coastal areas to highlands. And the famous plateau in the East Kalimantan province is located in West Kutai Regency. West Kutai Regency is bordered by Mahakam Ulu Regency to the north, North Penajem Paser Regency to the south, Kutai Kartanegara Regency to the east, and North Barito and Central Kalimantan Regency to the west. Following the promulgation of the provisions of Act Number 2 of 2013, West Kutai Regency was divided and a new district emerged, namely Mahakam Ulu Regency.
