Ngalau means cave. Ngalau Indah is a very beautiful cave. Well, at this resting place there is a cave hundreds of meters long that winds around the waist of the rocky hill that surrounds Payakumbuh. That is why this cave is often referred to as Long Cave. This cave was naturally formed thousands of years ago. Ever since it was discovered by the Dutch colonial government, Ngalau Indah has always been the center of attention for tourists. This tourist attraction is still known as beautiful and natural because of the green forest that surrounds it. These forests add to the freshness when you visit Ngalau Indah. The beauty of Ngalau Indah consists of stalactites that hang tens of meters above the head. There are also stalagmites that seem to grow from the bottom of the cave, adding to the charm of Ngalau Indah. The access road to the cave has been repaired with a concrete path. The existence of a bridge that crosses several gorges in the cave provides a beautiful and enchanting natural landscape. Ngalau cave has several cave mouths that are used to enter and exit. The Ngalau cave is located at an altitude of 640 meters above sea level. There are several unique and distinctive parts to this cave. Like the gong stone, the hollow stone is shaped like a hollow cone or looks like a bell.
The gong stone is just to the left of the entrance. Due to its unique shape, this gong stone reflects quite a loud sound. In addition to the gong stone, there are two adjacent rocks that resemble an elephant and a mushroom. There are other models in the form of people, mosquito nets, umbrellas, etc.
