Forbidden fish of Indonesia, Pariaman

Parit Malintang, (Antaranews W Sumatra) - Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra has two interesting fishing spots that are packed with tourists on weekends and holidays. "In Padang Pariaman there are several fishing attractions that are prohibited but are not properly managed," Wiwiek Herawati, Head of Destination Development at the Padang Pariaman Youth and Sports Tourism Bureau, said in Parit Malintang on Sunday. Although not properly managed, this tourist attraction is capable of attracting tourists to come to this destination.
This is because the fish in the tourist attraction are relatively large in size and tourists can swim in the river that is the habitat of these fish. No-fishing spots that have become tourist attractions are Marunggai in District V Koto Kampung Dalam and Batang Tiku in District IV Koto Aur Malintang. During the holiday season, tourists bring their children and feed the fish that are often sold by local merchants. This tourist spot not only teaches children to fish but also introduces them to their parents. He hopes the Nagari Regional Government can harness the potential of the banned fish for tourism development. "Especially now that there is a business entity owned by the Nagari that can generate income for the Nagari," he said. The prohibited fishing tourism object is also the target of newcomers when they return home. Meanwhile, Samsul, head of Marunggai Air Malanca's fish ban tourism awareness group, said several public facilities had been built on the site of the tourist facility to help the cause. "There are prayer rooms, toilets and outlets to support tourist attractions," he said. He said that during the holiday season, the number of tourists visiting the tourist attraction reached 200 people. "The tourists who come are not only from foreign countries and regions, but also from Malaysia.
