Maybe some people see that the marine tourism objects in West Sumatra are only in the area of Padang city, Pesisir Selatan regency or Pariaman city. But it turns out that at the end of West Sumatra, specifically in West Pasaman, there is a hidden maritime paradise. Pasbar residents, especially on Air Bangis, know this island as Long Island. Perhaps not as popular as the tourist hotspot Padang Beach and the beaches and islands of West Sumatra. But don't worry, for tourists who really intend to visit Panjang Island, it is highly recommended. The coastline in West Pasaman reaches 152 km, which makes this area exotic beaches and small islands that you can find in the waters of Air Bangis in the Beremas river sub-district. In total there are 9 islands that grace the waters of Air Bangis, including Panjang Island and the only inhabited island in West Pasaman waters. To explore Panjang Island, visitors must first go to Air Bangis, Pasbar and can be reached by intercity bus within Padang Province or Bukittinggi City at a cost of around IDR 45,000 with a distance of about 5 o 6 hours. On the way to Air Bangis, views of oil palm plantations and residential areas along the way can spoil the springs. Arriving at the Air Bangis pier, the journey continues with a fishing boat that you can rent or join the people of Panjang Island who use the boats for transportation.
