This Living Sea Lake is one of the natural riches of West Pasaman Regency. This unique lake with an altitude of more than 1940 meters above sea level is so beautiful and natural, completely untouched. The virginity of this lake district challenged many explorers to conquer it. There have been many climbing expeditions to this lake. Due to the uniqueness and natural charm of this lake, 2 researchers from Germany, Dr. Renata Rabenstern and Herwig Zahorka made observations and research on living marine lakes. Lake Laut Stay is flanked by two mountains namely Mount Bendera and Mount Malintang and is surrounded by hills. With a diameter of about 3 km, the turquoise water color of the lake will make your eyes stop. However, the lake water is not drinkable because the water has an unpleasant taste and a very low pH value, around pH 2, according to research. Also, there are no animals living in the lake, no fish or other animals. What causes the absence of animals living in this lake has not been further investigated. However, according to some experts, this lake is a volcanic lake. The proof is that the lake water contains sulfur which is harmful to the body and the existence of a hot spring at the foot of the mountain proves that there is volcanic activity on the mountain. For hikers and adventurers who want to camp on the shores of this lake, do not fear the difficulties in providing clean water because a small river flows into this lake. At night, when the weather is clear, you can see the beauty of this Living Sea Lake decorated with stars in the sky. The beauty of Lake Laut Live was first revealed over the internet by the MAPALA organization of several leading universities in West Sumatra and through a research video by Dr. Renata Rabenstern and Herwig Zahorka, German researchers, posted on YouTube. . There are two routes to reach this lake, namely via Nagari Rabi Jonggor and Via Nagari Roba Jalu.
