Satonda Island is one of the tourist destinations in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) with its natural beauty. This tourist destination is located off the north coast of the island of Sumbawa. Satonda Island is included in the territory of Dompu Regency. The location of this beach is only 3 km from the Sanggar Strait in the Flores Sea. Satonda Island is one of the destinations in West Nusa Tenggara with beauty not to be missed. Satonda Island is located on the west side of Dompu in Nangamiro Village, Tambora District, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Satonda Island has a unique natural panorama and is rich in history. This island is a land that was formed from the bottom of the sea due to volcanic eruptions millions of years ago. The volcanic island of Satonda looks beautiful from the top of Mount Tambora, which is about 30 kilometers away. Many say that climbing Mount Tambora is incomplete without visiting Satonda Island. Satonda Island is said to be better known among foreign tourists, so it has become something of a stopover when visiting Komodo National Park from Bali or Lombok. According to historical folklore, this island is a forbidden island that cannot be inhabited because it became the exile of princess Dae Minga. If you want to travel to Satonda Island, you can travel from Sumbawa Besar to Nangamiro Port with a distance of 8 hours. To reach Satonda Island from the mainland, you can cross from Labuan Kenanga. With a long journey of about 15 minutes. this route is better because Labuan Kenanga and Satonda piers are opposite each other compared to Calabahi – Satonda port, which is also about 15 minutes away. From Dompu, the two ports are about 2.5 hours from the city of Dompu.
